My Road To Fitness

Good morning. I apologize I have been a little MIA on Twitter and responding to blog posts this week. I rarely share anything personal on my blog, but have to tell you I am having a tough time this week. I have decided to get into shape and start on a healthy diet plan. The diet is simple, no biggie, I've done this before. I will stick to it and I know I will have success. The problem? The workout.

I started with a personal trainer this week, and have to tell you I am so frustrated and upset with myself. How on earth have I allowed myself to go my entire life without working out? I have absolutely no muscle tone and at 35 years of age am at step 1. I didn't play sports in high school, and didn't think you had to be in shape, just thin. I was so wrong. Now, I'm suffering the pain because of it.

I know it will get better and easier, but just wanted to say thank you to all my blogger and Twitter friends. You all are so supportive and I have to tell you you motivate me more than you know. I will keep you posted on my progress, and thanks for letting me vent a bit.

Well, Pinterest is failing me and I can't seem to locate a search box anywhere, so I have to share some photos of something from the past. I love wearing studs. They're kind of bad ass, kind of look at me, kind of chic tough girl. They also look great with a fabulous pair of pumps and a leather jacket. My favorite studded item? Wow, let me say it again, Wow. I am speechless after seeing the breathtaking photos of Taylor Swift in this month's Vogue. Mario Testino has done it again. No one works a camera like he does. After seeing the photos, I just knew I had to feature them for today's Fashion Friday post.

Taylor is getting more beautiful everyday. Her style is polished and perfect for a 22-year-old. I didn't have a sense of who I was at that age. These photos remind me of a boho, Carly Simon-type look. I'm dying over those Miu Miu boots. Again, Wow.

My Newest Obsession

Ok, for some reason, I have rediscovered "Friends" again. I watched the show in the past, but definitely not every single episode. I find myself cracking up and seriously relating to the show lately, maybe because of where I am in my life? I don't know. I found some really fun trivia about the show and thought I'd share with you...do you love the show as much as I do? I'm curious, what's your favorite episode and why?

--Courteney Cox was originally asked to play Rachel, but she asked to play Monica instead after reading the parts.

--Jon Favreau was offered the role of Chandler Bing. He later returned as a guest star during the 1997 season as Pete Becker, Monica's millionaire boyfriend.

--The golden frame around the peephole was originally a mirror which one of the crew accidentally smashed. But because it still looked good they decided to leave it there.

--Because of a bet between Matthew Perry and Bruce Willis on the set of The Whole Nine Yards (which Perry won), Willis appeared in his two-episode guest role for free.

--When Matt LeBlanc auditioned for the role he only had $11 dollars to his name. When the cast got their paychecks, the first thing that Courteney Cox bought was a car. Matt LeBlanc bought a hot dinner.

--Lisa Kudrow was terrified of the duck that showed up in Season 3.

--Is filmed on the same soundstage that was used for the filming of the sitcom Full Houseduring the last two seasons (1993-1995) of it's eight year run (1987-1995). The pilot of "F·r·i·e·n·d·s" was shot on stage 33 (the same stage as Living Single) at the Warner Ranch, and the first season was shot is Warner Bros Stage 5, now the home ofEverybody Loves Raymond) from 1987-1995.

--When Tom Selleck made his initial on-set appearances, he received standing ovations. These would render his entrances unusable, prompting the need for later re-shoots without the audience.

--No Friend ever made more money doing the show than any others. They started out making $22,500 per episode and ended up making $1,000,000 per episode. All negotiations were done in unison. Kudrow said, "The six of us are far stronger than just one person."

--Courteney Cox is the only regular cast member to not receive an Emmy nomination for their work on the show.

--The artwork in Central Perk is changed every three episodes.

--Joey's statue of a white dog was originally given to Jennifer Aniston as a good luck present from her best friend when she started acting. She offered to lend it to the show for the episode where Joey became rich and bought a lot of stuff. After that episode, the producers decided to keep it.

--The orange couch used in Central Perk was found in the basement of the Warner Bros. studio.

--Lisa Kudrow based her hippie character Phoebe on her co-star Jennifer Aniston - because of the actress' interest in "spiritual" subjects.

How else can you describe Reese Witherspoon? She's sweet, sincere, and all too cute. I love what she says in this month's Elle article: "On earning a reported $15 to $20 million per film: 'Every time they call and talk to me about money, I get embarrassed about it. A couple of women finally made me feel better: 'To get what you’re making, do you know how much money people are making off of you?’ I’m like, ‘Oh, oh, okay.’” Very humble. MMMMMMM, My Fedora!

So I got my 2nd fedora last week at Goorin Bros. (My favorite hat store ever!) and I'm loving it. It's dark gray and has black accents, with blue and yellow feathers on the band. So hot. What I love about fedoras is they are chic for Winter, but also great for the beach in the summer or hanging out by the pool. Do you rock one? Do share!

"In The Navy..."

Good morning friends! I hope you are having a great week. I can't believe it's Thursday already. It's been over 80 here in sunny Southern California and I'm sick of it, to tell you the truth. I know you all back East are telling me to shut up right about now, but I want to wear my cute sweaters and new Uggs!

A color I love and notice can be worn year round is navy. It's classic, chic, and refined. It also looks very nautical for summer or polished for winter. I also love that it was Kate Spade's color of the month for January. Do you wear navy? What's your favorite piece and I'm dying to know what color shoes you wear with it! Have a great day!

It's Wednesday already...love short weeks, we are on our way to the weekend before you know it! One thing I love about decorating is getting my guest room ready. Crazy About Cake Pops

Good morning! I'm back at work today after my long 2-weeks off. I'm kind of glad to tell you the truth. I have so much to do and like the distraction. I'm also back to writing for book #2 so I hope to have something to show for all the hard work soon!

Are You Ready?

To work out I mean? I'm ready. I hate to work out, but don't mind power walking, hiking, and just being outdoors, which is easy here in Southern California. I tried to watch it over Christmas, so I didn't gain any weight, but am ready to get in shape and lose a few pounds anyway.

It's about that time again...New Year's Eve. I have to admit it's my least favorite holiday. Why, you ask? Because I don't think I've ever had a fun New Year's. What a week. I have to admit I've been a little bored this vacation (who am I?) and am kind of ready to go back to work. I go back Tuesday, and then the countdown to summer begins. A couple months ago, someone from the company Misikko contacted me and asked me to review their Hana hair dryer. I've been using it every day for 2 months now, and have to tell you, I am in love with this dryer. It makes my hair so shiny, manageable, and seriously soft. I have never been one to think much about hair dryer's or their performance on my hair, so it surprises me that I notice such a huge difference. Hope you can get one and let me know what you think!

Is Gray The New Black?

I saw Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol yesterday and it was amazing. I always love the Mission Impossible movies, even though I'm not a huge fan of Tom Cruise in real life. They're full of action and I love all the new technology. The female lead this time? Paula Patton. Who is she, you ask? Well she's an actress, but is also married to singer/songwriter Robin Thicke. I thought she was so beautiful that I had to share some photos of her. Did you see the film? What did you think?

Good morning all! I hope you had a fabulously blessed Christmas and enjoyed spending time with your families and friends. I had a wonderful Christmas. My family is so good to me. I feel so blessed and can't wait to see what 2012 brings. I don't normally share, but thought I'd share a few things I got with you this year. Check them out!

First, my brother and sister in law got me that adorable Henri Bendel ring above! It twists to reveal fig perfume inside the bow!!! One of my favorite things!

Well, on to today's Fashion Friday post. One trend I don't think I will ever get sick of or grow out of is animal print. My mom loves it, which is probably where I got my liking for it, but I have to admit we love our animal prints more than most. So much so, that when I was at Kate Spade today, the employee asked where my mom was and said she knew she loved animal print! I'm curious if you like it or wear it. What are your favorite pieces?

Holiday Baking (for the 1st time evah!!)

Happy hello to all you lovelies out there in Blonde Episodes land....

My name is Michelle, and I'm from over at The Vintage Apple!

Just wanted to say a quick "THANK YOU" to Kori for letting my hijack her blog for the day! Hope y'all don't mind!

When I think of the holidays, I immediately think about baking...not just any kind of baking....but baking things that are from scratch! Homemade!!!!

My entire family loves to bake...you would think I inherited the "baking" gene, but alas, I did not.

So, because I don't bake, I naturally registered for a KitchenAid stand mixer (in Tiffany Blue, to be exact!!) and thought, "If I get the mixer, it's a sign that I need to learn how to bake."

Well guess what.

I got the mixer.

Cue the scary suspenseful music here....

Unfortunately...it sat in its pretty lil box (since October) because someone (cough...me...cough) was too scared to take it out of the box and bake something!!!!

Well, I wasn't about to let something so pretty scare lil ol me off....

I took that thing outta its box....

sat it on my counter...

and got my happy bee-hind in the kichen and baked me some chocolate chip cookies!!!

So....

A Fa La La LaLa Land Christmas

Hi, my name is Leeann and you can find me over at Join the Gossip, but today I am excited to be guest blogging for Kori! That's me below, in the red pants, standing next to Kori. This photo was snapped a few weeks back when we went to the set of Pretty Little Liars. Also with us are the wonderful bloggers, Annemarie of Brunch At Saks, and Kate of Nautical By Nature.

Now that we're all friends, let's get down to business! Christmas in Lala Land, aka Los Angeles. We may not have snow, or reindeer...or even temperatures that feel like it should be Christmastime, but we have The Grove and Farmer's Market! The Grove is an outdoor mall that was built right next door to the Farmer's Market, which has been around since 1934. So it's a great mixture of old and new and the perfect place to get into the holiday spirit.

Fun fact: remember during the first season of The Hills when Lauren and Heidi went to a winter wonderland to see the fake snow fall? Well, that was at The Grove!

Pretty lights, snowfall every night at 7 and 8pm, dancing water in fountains, Santa's cottage, and festive window displays adorn the walkways. And the tree is nothing short of magnificent! It's 100 feet tall with more than 15,000 lights and 10,000 festive ornaments.

Of course, no shopping center in LA would be complete without some Hollywood magic. This year there's a Happy Feet Two display featuring a lit up igloo to play in and adorable penguins to pose next to. So cute!

No matter how old you are it's pretty hard not to get into the Christmas spirit at The Grove and Farmer's Market! If you live in Southern California, be sure to make the trip this year. And if you're in town for the holidays, be sure to add it to your sightseeing list. It'll be worth it.

I've been done shopping for a while, but ran to Urban Outfitters the other day and found these adorable mustache highball glasses. So, I ask, what's with the mustache trend? I know it's been around for a while, but am I the only one who doesn't get it? Can you enlighten me? Check out some examples.

Well my original plan was to get everything done so early this year, that I could just relax on my break, but I have to admit now I'm kinda bored lol. I have shopped, wrapped, done Christmas cards, literally everything. So now I don't know what to do with myself. Ironic right? Today I'm heading to the movies with my parents to see Sherlock Holmes. I'm so excited!

Christmas Is For Cobalt

One color I'm loving this season is cobalt blue. It looks great with black and gives that pop that is so needed on dreary days. It also looks great on a wall, or as an accent piece. What do you think?

Uber Comfy Uggs

The weekend is on it's way! I'm so excited to be getting out of school tomorrow for 2 weeks vacation! It's my favorite time of year and I am so looking forward to relaxing. This week has been so busy, but fun, and I'm ready to take some time off enjoying everything the season brings. How about you?

In the meantime, today is Fashion Friday once again. I hope you can link up with me and share the fashions you're loving. I have to say before I begin this post, I never thought I would consider Ugg boots fashionable. That being said, I'm kind of liking them! Ugg is known for their sheepskin boots, but you might not know that they have an entire line of other shoes and boots as well. I have been fighting it tooth and nail, but finally broke down and bought a pair.

The only problem though? They're supposed to be super comfortable, but do cause foot problems if you don't have the proper insoles in them. They have no arch, so some are having pain. I love mine and wear them to Disneyland. Do you have any? What are your thoughts?

The Twelve Dates of Christmas!

Hey girls! PinkLouLou here! Thanks Kori for letting me guest blog for ya!

Keeping up with the Christmasy theme we have going on here, I am gonna give you twelve fun date ideas for this jingly season! There is something about Christmas that is just so darn nostalgic, knowwhatimsayin? makes me want a cute man friend to smooch on real bad ;)

Here is a list of my must have Christmas-time dates. In no particular order, might I ad.

1. The ice skating and hot chocolate date.

Here in Lexington, KY (woop woop!) we just got our first downtown outdoor skating rink. EEEK! Think Rockefeller center… ish. HA. ;) but seriously, how fun is skating outside in a park with pretty Christmas lights all around? Also, gives you time to have fun together and goof off. One of you is bound to fall, so jut keep that in mind and have fun! Follow it up with some hot chocolate from a street vendor or something. Heck, throw in some dark rum, make that hot chocolate reeallly nice.

2. The Love Actually movie date

Hands down my FAVORITE Christmas movie ever made. Love it. It is the sweetest story, and oh so funny. Grab a bottle of pinot grigio and curl up on the couch with this Christmas classic. Usually I watch this movie by myself (there might be tears), ha, but just maybe this year, I can find a cute sir, and con him into watching it with me. TBD.

3. The Angel Tree date

Big fan of the angel tree. This is the season of giving, so why don't you and your date go pick a child off the angel tree. Use the money you would have used on dinner, drinks, entertainment blah blah and go pick out presents for a child who might not get any :(. It is so sweet, and will make you SO happy! Plus, you will have fun goofing off in the toy stores, I assure you ;)

4. Christmas Cookie Party Date

Why not double date with another couple and have a christmas cookie party! Add wine of course. You will have fun getting in the spirit of Christmas by making cookies, and spending time with each other. Christmas music is a must, here are some of my favorites.

5. The check out Christmas lights Date

Go find a big fancy neighborhood and drive around looking at Christmas lights! Your city might also have a public light display. Grab dinner and drinks after at some place cozy.

6. The decorate a tiny real tree date

Now how many of you go cut your own tree? I am no expert here, and I have never done so, but how fun would it be to go cut a baby tree and decorate it. FUN. So go find you a cute little tiny tree and cut it down, strap it on top of your car a la Clark Griswold, and decorate it together! Make sure it isn't illegal or anything, I'd hate for you two to spend Christmas in the slammer. ;)

7. Go to NYC at Christmas.

Now, I'm not sure what your budget is here, maybe you are dating a Jonas brother IONO, but at some point you HAVE to be in NYC at Christmas time! It is gorgeous, and breathtaking. Go see the Rockettes. Wait in that long line and skate at Rockefeller Center. Wear cute outfits with furry ear muffs and walk hand in hand down the streets. Kiss outside in central park when it is snowing!

Le sigh.

Love NYC at Christmas. It is magical.

8. Build a snowman, duh.

Act like you are twelve. Build a snow man. Heck make it a modern snow man. Maybe you want to dress him up like Lady Gaga, I don't know. Have fun with it.

9. Go to your church Christmas play.

It will make you feel all tingly inside. Plus nothing is cuter, or funnier than kids dressed up acting out the birth of Jesus. And if you are lucky you might see a performance like this one, or maybe get to make out behind the curtains? ;) Just thoughts people

10. Shop the post Christmas sales!

Umm HI. Date shopping is so fun. Bonus? The word SALE. Make a whole day of it, maybe even go to a different city, do lunch, dinner whatever. It will be fun picking out things together :)

11. Go to the humane society and play with the puppies!

The puppies know it's Christmas, they sure do, so go love on the ones that don't have homes this holiday season. They are SO darn cute, and it will just warm your heart! Only downfall here is you will more than likely come home with a four legged friend.

Just sayin'.

12. The skiing (or lack thereof) date

People love to ski. I don't get it, but they do.

I almost died in the mountainous region of Breckenridge a few years ago, and I haven't been on ski's since. True story. I prefer being a lodge bunny and drinking nom nom cocktails in tight pants and furry vests. I am slowly getting brave again, may try the bunny slopes soon, but I ain't makin' any promises ya hear? But a few days shacked up snuggly at a ski resort? Sign.me.UP.

What Christmas Means To Me...

Hi Everyone! It's Heather from ...this & that... today on Blonde Episodes. I was absolutely delighted when Kori asked me to guest post about Christmas. Kori say's "the sky's your limit". So, here goes...

Christmas is by far my favorite holiday - besides, of course, my birthday! It's special to me for a number of reasons. Let me explain. I'm the oldest grandchild on both sides (mom and dad and step-parents) and it was always a very special time in my childhood. It's about getting together with family and "now" friends (I have a lot of close friends that I consider family) and about giving. I don't necessarily meaning giving "gifts" but, rather just giving. I enjoy being with friends and family and celebrating and being thankful for what we have today and right now. And of course the New Year as well but, that's another post entirely.

Yes, there's holiday parties and don't get me wrong those are fun too! Let's see...getting dressed up, giving "Santa" gifts and simply getting together with those special people in our lives to celebrate the holiday, year-end and exciting things to come! And right now I do have several people in my life dealing with difficult situations - loved ones being sick and in the hospital right now -- so, my heart goes out to them as well. And let's just say that they are making the best of celebrating with those loved ones, too! And that is what counts.

Let's not forget what the holiday season brings... Snow! Well, obviously this depends on what part of the country or world we live in. Myself, I live in the Arizona, a.k.a. the Valley of the Sun and I would have loved for all of the rain yesterday to to be snow! Oh, yes, I really, really do wish this. I'm not too worried because I can head up north and play in the snow or just wait (and keep my *fingers crossed*) for my trip back to Chicago for New Year's weekend. So, that brings me to snow and all things about it. I've lived in Arizona for 11 years and I miss the snow. Really I do! I miss snowball fights, snow angels, snow forts, snowman. Oh, and ice skating. The best is ice skating (outside) while it's snowing.

Alright, as you can see I'm a bit sentimental regarding the holidays. Christmastime is about the family and friends - those that are dear and near your heart. It's a very special time to me and also a time that I get to give heartfelt gifts as well. Sometimes they aren't much but, the present "gives" that special little smile like "wow, you remembered" or "wow, that's a very cool gift". You know what I mean? I'm sure you do. It's not necessarily about the cost of the gift but, the gift itself and what it means to you and the recipient. Right? Right. Anyhow, I'm on a budget this year and I'm sure most of you are as well and I think "most" of my gifts are pretty heartfelt and several of them I have made myself. Yes, I'm a crafty girl. If you follow my blog you know all about Blondie's Shop. I've made some cross-stitch items, well had them, and completed them and decided to give them as gifts this year. Pretty cool, huh? I thought so. Still...have no idea what to get my brother-in-law. I like to be unique in my gift giving and not give the "norm" however, I think I might be out of the loop on that this year.

The holiday season means a few more things to me... Putting up my Christmas tree! This year I did it the weekend after Thanksgiving and it was fun. However, this year I put it up by myself. It's a tad bit different this year being single for the holidays but, I'll survive. I enjoy deciding "which" ornaments to put up and how to style the tree with ribbon and which color to use, etc. It's a design process...you know what I mean?! And let's talk about wrapping the presents. I love to coordinate all of my presents and use festive ribbon. You see I really want the gift "and" the package look fabulous - makes the recipient not want to open it. Ha-ha, I know. Oh, and holiday movies!!! The oldies and the new ones...

I'm looking forward to my sister and her husband's annual holiday party this Saturday. I'll be staying overnight so that I can enjoy myself at the party and not worry about driving home. Then Sunday morning I'm sure will go to breakfast and then back to her place for more cookie making. Yes, you read that correctly - more! We made a ton of cookies for the party this past Sunday and will make more for all of her kids - she's a teacher. Anyhow, I'm pretty excited about the party. Last year's party I did not attend because I was in Europe on my extraordinary vacation. I'm also looking forward to Christmas Eve at my sister's this year. I'll be staying over as well so, that my sis, her hubby and I can share Christmas Day morning together and I'll be making my signature cinnamon vanilla pancakes (courtesy of Dad). Oh, and then we will be heading to the movies and then Chinese dinner at their place (something regular they do and I'm partaking "with" them this year). Yes, I am staying over again because I have Monday off and then I'll head home. And we will be sitting in front of their fireplace with hot chocolate and wine and having a ton of fun!

Christmas time also reminds me of all the things I am thankful for - for the year and all of my life lessons I've learned "before" it comes to an end. It's a serious time of celebration for me and a very positive part of the year! I'm looking forward to a fun holiday time this year, what about you? Any fun plans and/or traditions that you have? And my New Year's will be fun too, and you?

Finding My Frock--It's Color Blocked!

Hi everyone! It's Sierra from Ocean Dreams blog and I'm thrilled to be guest posting at Kori's blog today. :)

I really can't believe that Christmas will be here in a few weeks. Every year I look forward to so many things, including traditions, staying warm by the fire, spending time with loved ones, and this year in particular, spending time with my love in California.

As well as enjoying lovely traditions and creating new traditions with my boyfriend, I LOVE picking out a favorite holiday dress every single year. Yes, I admit I can never wear the same dress two years in a row on Christmas day. I have too much picking a new dress out.

What about you? Do you love finding the perfect outfit for Christmas day or for a holiday get together or party? This year I have my outfit all picked out. I'm wearing a slimming color blocked dress. For supporting accessories, I'll be wearing my grey tights and a lacy long sleeve top underneath my dress. Of course I'll have to add some glitz with some jewelry too. I can't wait! It's Monday once again. I'm excited because that means I only have 4 more days of work, and then I'm off for 2 weeks! Yippeee! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I finished my shopping, wrapping, and pretty much everything I needed to. All that's left is my Christmas cards.

If I could have anything I wanted from Santa, I'd say I dream of a Birkin bag. I will probably never have the chance to even borrow one, let alone own one, but a girl can dream. The Birkin bag is a handmade bag made by Hermes and is named after actress Jane Birkin. The bag is definitely a symbol of wealth, since not many of the public can afford it at prices ranging from $9,000 to $150,000. The bag is so famous, that there is even an entire book dedicated to it! (Bringing Home the Birkin).

Festive Weekend

Fashion Friday Set Of Pretty Little Liars

It's finally that time again, Fashion Friday! This week I got the chance to visit the Warner Bros. lot and the set of Pretty Little Liars! It was absolutely amazing. We got to spend time with the costume designer, Mandi Line, and learn all about what's in store for the girls in January. Ladylike But Painful

I can't believe it's Thursday already! Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? Only 17 more days to shop! I'm done, but have to find some stocking baubles for my mom and dad. After visiting the set of Pretty Little Liars on Monday, I've been looking for some different ways to branch out in my fashion. One thing I love is corsets. I don't own any, but love them with a great pair of jeans, or on the back of a fabulous wedding dress. I love the old ads that show all the different corsets women had to choose from.
