Fashion Friday Model Sophie Sumner

Another week has flown by and here we are at Fashion Friday!  I hope you can link up with me...I have my Gatsby party tomorrow and the kids are so excited.  I can't wait to share the photos with you all.  I came across an article on the newest winner of America's Next Top Model (does anyone still watch it?), and had to share.  Who's more fashionable than a fashion model?

5.5 Days Left Until Summer Vacation!

Ok, so it should be 6 days right, but let's count together...Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday, 1/2 day Wednesday, 1/2 day Thursday, 1/2 day Friday...so technically that's 5.5!  As you can see I'm ready for summer.  It's part, (not all LOL) the reason I became a teacher.  I live for my summer's off.  There's just something about that last day, where that "romantic readiness" as Nick Carraway would say kicks in and the possibility for summer love is there.  Wow that sounded a little mushy huh?  Oh well, here's what I plan to do this summer.

Milla Jojovich Singer?

There are so many celebrities who can do it all--sing, act, and dance.  How many models though can do all and be successful in each category?  Milla Jojovich can.  I've loved Milla since she was young...take a look:

and here she is all grown up:

I always thought in certain shots she looked a bit like Supermodel Linda Evangelista.  What do you think?  Now that Milla has conquered modeling and acting, she's back to singing.  Back?  Yes, if you didn't know, Milla was originally signed to a record contract at the age of 12.  Milla has a new single called "Electric Sky."  It's really good.  Milla says it's a "New Order-meets-Daft Punk-meets Joni Mitchell-meets Yo Gabba Gabba."  Check out the song:

Trends with Taylore

Hey friends!  I hope you all had a great day and are looking forward to the weekend as much as I am.  Isn't it funny that we always want more time off to have a vacation from our vacation?  Moving right along...my sister-in-law is not only gorgeous and super sweet, but she's a former model.  So, who better to check in with every so often for her take on the current trends?

This week, Taylore is showing off her new bag from Oasap.  The bag is the most delicious kelly green color, and is just perfect for all her summer outfits.  Look how cute it is with her bright pink coat?  Why is she wearing a coat, you may ask?  Because she lives by the beach, where it's always a bit chilly in the evenings.

Hatfield's & McCoys -- My Relatives

Good morning!  I hope you all had a great, long weekend.  A 4-day workweek is just what we need.  Let the countdown begin.  I'm down to 8 days of school!!  Summer's almost here!  Moving on...last night the History Channel debuted it's mini-series, Hatfield's & McCoys.  I hope you had a chance to catch it.  I have a little more interest in the series than others might, because it has always been said that my family (mom's side) was related to both the families!  Yes, my Mamaw to the Hatfield's, and my Papaw to the McCoy's.  Seriously?  Wow, that's some dangerous blood I've got.  It's no secret my mom's side is a little backwoods, but both of America's most famous feuding families?!  Too funny.

The other reason to watch?  Matt Barr.  Enough said.  No idea who he is?  You probably thought of him as the hot, young blonde guy.  He's been on Hellcats, American Pie, The Housebunny, etc.  He makes the series just that much more interesting.  If you watched, I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

Weekend In Newport

I hope you all had a fabulous Memorial Day weekend!  I spent the day yesterday with my brother and sister-in-law in Newport Beach and it was such a great time as always.  

The day began with an amazing breakfast that my sister-in-law made.  She's such a great cook!  Check out these cheesy eggs!

Next, we headed out for our hike, which ended up being about 7.5 miles.

There are so many beautiful wildflowers and the views of the ocean are truly breathtaking.

The way there was much easier than the way back.

This was a killer hill, but check out that view.

These fossils are actually embedded into the rock from 15 million years ago.

After our hike, we headed back to the house for some delicious BBQ (fillet's!)

What a great day!  I can't wait to head back down to visit!
