The Louvre and Louis Vuitton

I hope you're all having a great weekend.  My mom was asking me some questions about my blog and asked me if I had seen the Fall 2012 Louis Vuitton runway show.  I had to admit, I hadn't heard about it, so I was amazed when I saw the photos of the show.  Louis Vuitton has always been one of my favorite brands, but after all the pairing Marc Jacobs does with them, it's no wonder my jaw dropped after hearing the details of the show.

The show began with an actual vintage locomotive pulling into the Louvre "station" complete with steam and everything.  The next thing we see is porters escorting the gorgeous women off the train with their fabulous bags in hand.  The bags we know are always amazing, but what about the clothes?  There were "A-line silhouettes, ... tall, deep-brimmed, expression-concealing hats...a myriad of jackets, often in glittery fabrics, with oversize jeweled buttons, severe, sleeveless A-line coats, square-necked Empire waist dresses in Lurex."  So, we have the perfect combination of vintage and contemporary.  Vogue even said it resembled Prada's new collection.  So, prepare yourselves for this gorgeous trend ladies.

Fashion Friday and New Blog Design!!!

Sorry for the delay in getting the Fashion Friday post up, but I've been working with my fabulous blog designer, Stephanie of Dirt and Lace Blog Design to revamp my baby!  I hope you love the new look.  It's perfect and just what I was looking for.  If the artwork looks familiar, that might be because the fabulous Inslee Haynes created the image and the watercolor text for me!  Isn't she talented?  I've been so excited to share the new look with you all!

With the new look, I've created a new button for Fashion Friday, so hopefully you will add the fabulous new design to this week's Fashion Friday post.  You can see it below in this post or on my sidebar.

This week I'm loving all the gorgeous clutch bags out there.  It's hard for me to condense everything I own into a small clutch bag, but they look so chic, that sometimes you just have to leave some junk at home!  Here are a few of my favorites.

Rachel Zoe

Tory Burch

Diane Von Furstenberg

Kate Spade

Marc Jacobs

Another Dose Of Carrie

If you're like me and loved every minute of Sex and the City, I bet you can't wait for The Carrie Diaries, the new series based on Carrie Bradshaw's younger life.  Just when we thought our girls were all grown up, we get to see what Carrie experienced at an early age and just how fabulous she was in her high school years!  The CW is the network behind the pilot and if you haven't seen the first photo of the new (younger)  Carrie, here it is:

So, what do you think?  Isn't she fabulous?  It's young actress AnnaSophia Robb.  I think she might just be perfect for the younger version of Carrie.  And, to top it off, Emmy Award winning costume designer Eric Daman of Sex and The City and Gossip Girl is the man to take the fashion to the next level.

So, of course since I'm so excited, I had to go back and revisit some of my favorite Sex and The City fashions.  Here's Carrie!

Mad Men Fashion Returns

Did you watch the season premiere of Mad Men Sunday?  The fabulous cast has returned for a 5th season and it looks like we're all in for some fun.  As usual, the fashion is forefront.  I love the vintage looks and am so thrilled that many designers are clearly inspired by the style of the show.  With the 5th season comes the 1960's and all their glory.  We see a lot of mini dresses, nude lips, and big hair.  Costume designer Janie Bryant has hit another home run...check out some of the looks from Sunday's episode.

Gold Digger

Oh my...check out these fabulous photos from W Magazine.  Gold is such a year-round color, but looks amazing with a tan in the summer.  Which one is your favorite image?
