Gobsmacked by Gwen

It's Saturday already?  Where did my Spring Break go?  Oh well, 6 weeks from yesterday and I'm on summer break, but who's counting?

I've always loved Gwen Stefani.  Maybe it's because she's a fellow Southern California girl, maybe it's her down-to-earth personality, or maybe it's just her amazing style and oh those red lips!  Whatever the case, I've always admired how she was able to pretty much stay out of the spotlight over the years, maintaining a sense of normalcy.

Gwen and the band, No Doubt have a record coming out soon.  I can't wait to see if their style has changed on this album.  They used to be ska...does anyone even remember what ska is?

Also, some really great news!  My novel comes out a week from yesterday, this Friday, May 6th!!!!  I'm so excited to release the title and artwork to you this week.  I'm even hoping to get it uploaded to Amazon earlier than Friday, but time will tell.  I'm so thankful for all the wonderful support I've been given throughout the months (and years) with the process.  You are all so great and I don't know what I'd do without the blogging community...so to give you a hint...the title is: Murder  _____ _____.

Nothing says pirate like a skull and cross bones necklace

With Pirates of the Caribbean coming out May 20, I'm a little obsessed with (as always) Johnny Depp, and the pirate style.  What exactly is pirate style, you ask?  Well, there are a lot of ruffles, leather, head scarves, skull-infused accessories, and of course long wavy hair and drastic eyeliner.  I'm really excited to see Penelope Cruz in this one.

The Girl Next Door Reese

Reese Witherspoon might just be America's sweetheart.  She's adorable, sweet, smart, and definitely seems like the girl next door.  Water For Elephants came out recently and once again she proves she's also a great actress.  Elle Magazine this month featured some of the photos Reese has been in over the years.

Not only is she beautiful on the outside, it appears she is on the inside as well.  What's your favorite Reese movie?  Mine is definitely Fear, with Mark Wahlberg...can't see that one enough!  Have a great day friends!

I hope you all had a great Easter weekend.  I'm on Spring Break this week and am hoping for some sun.  As you know, I love summer and can't wait to get my tan on.  I have dreams of purchasing the Nash Metropolitan I saw over the weekend (check it out here), throwing my hair back in a fabulous scarf, wearing my chicest sunglasses, and driving myself out to Palm Springs, a la Mad Men Style.  A girl can dream, right?
