I just love these vintage images, especially the first one, something about the polka-dot dress!! I use a lot of them on my blog and I always get great comments about them.
I can so-o-o-o remember my Grandmother never leaving the house, even to go grocery shopping, without a hat & gloves. The 1950's ((IMO)) were the last decade of femininity...... I love all these pics. They just enhance my point!! Great post!! Love, Marilyn xxoo
Ahhh tough choice. I love the first one because it's so elegant. However, the third image conjures something in my soul ... it reminds me of my grandmother. I remember pictures of her in dresses of that length and shoes of that type.
Lovely! What I wouldn't do to live in the 40's (well minus the whole war thing ) I love to pick my grandmother's brain about being a teenager in that era! Have a great week!
Hi Kori! I HAD to comment on this one ;) I love picture number 2. All women should be "vain" ;). We need to use what we have to look the best we can at all times! But Oh, to look like her doing it. :) Beautiful pics, number 1 is stunning, love the polka dot dress and that bow, WOW!

My Inspiration
Behind the Inspiration
Many of you might not know I began this blog after being so inspired by Marilyn Monroe and all she was. I'm in love with old Hollywood and Marilyn embodies everything about it that I am inspired by. Who better to inspire me? Over the years, the blog has become less about Marilyn and more about me, my love of fashion, and appreciation for life, however I won't forget the inspiration that started it all, thus the name, "Blonde Episodes."
Blonde Bits By Marilyn
"Ever notice that 'what the hell' is always the right decision?"
"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."
"If you can make a girl laugh, you can make her do anything."
"The real lover is the man who can thrill you by kissing your forehead or smiling into your eyes or just staring into space."
"We should all start to live before we get too old. Fear is stupid. So are regrets."
"I don't mind living in a man's world, as long as I can be a woman in it."
"We are all of us stars, and we deserve to twinkle."
"I want to grow old without facelifts. I want to have the courage to be loyal to the face I have made."
"Keep smiling, because life is a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about."
"All a girl really wants is for one guy to prove to her that they are not all the same."
"A career is wonderful but you can't curl up with it on a cold night."
"If you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best."

They all have an appeal, but I like the second one. So many reflections of the same pose, and just look at her hairdo. It's amazing.

I just adore the first image - the romance and elegance and femininity of that era shines through that picture.
I love the second one because the hairstyles are gorgeous and not unlike how I'm wearing my hair for my wedding next week!
Beautiful pictures!
